We took the train back to New York and then a train and ferry to stay with friends Kathy and Joe on Staten Island. Daryl met Them in Trinidad a few years ago and we have kept in touch. We dined at a lovely restaurant that night with views of the Brooklyn Bridge. The food was delicious. Next day Kathy took me to Michael's Art & Craft store to check out the scrapbooking supplies. I managed to buy a few things, addng to our already heavy luggage. We then took the ferry back to Manhatten. The ferry is free and holds several hundred people. You get fabulous views of the Statue of Liberty and also of a mini Sydney Harbour Bridge, from the ferry.
We checked in to the Holiday Inn again for one night, rearranged our luggage and prepared for a 4:30 wakeup. We took a taxi to JFK the next morning and boarded an American Airlines plane for Barbados.
