Onboard AMTRAK

After a dramatic start to the day, we are now sitting on the AMTRAK train to Baltimore, on the way to see the Redsox play Orioles at 7pm tonight. When we arrived at the Piarco Airport, Trinidad this morning, we found that we were not listed on the flight to New York. With train, hotel and baseball booked in Baltimore we were very disappointed. Anyway, we made it by going on standby and being called at the last minute, paying for tickets ourselves and eventually were last to board.
We made it to NY and thro customs very quickly this time, stored luggage and got to Penn St in time for our train. Whew! We'll sleep well tonight.
I am looking forward to a day out in Baltimore tomorrow. I guess there'll be another game tomorrow night. We are due to fly to Dubai on Mon morning but we are now in the process of changing flights. Joe and Kathy from Staten Island, NY have offered us tickets on a charity cocktail/dinner cruise around Manhatten on Mon night. Seems too good to miss so we are hoping to fly a day later, but still make it to Launceston for the Crows v Hawthorn match next Sat. Might just have to look for something to wear on Mon night as we left most of our luggage at the airport.

We are very lucky to have all these opportunities while travelling.
We are also looking forward to getting home to catch up with family after 5 weeks away.

  1. Hi Maureen and Daryl. Sounds like you're having a great time. Maureen, this blog is fantastic!! I'd like to employ you when you get home to help us set one up for school! Hope the baseball was great. We have fond memories of baseball in Baltimore seeing the Orioles play the Mariners. Enjoy. xx Julie P.
